Independent in ownership, deliberate in process, accountable to the people it will serve.
Everest Asset Management Ltd. is an Alberta corporation headquartered in Calgary. The firm is being established to build an independent Canadian investment management business.
Everest is currently in its organizational phase: assembling its team, building its operational and technology infrastructure, and putting in place the governance and controls appropriate to an investment management business.
Independence
Everest is being built as an independent firm, privately held, with decisions made in service of its future clients’ interests.
Discipline
A structured, repeatable process in investing, in operations and in governance, chosen over improvisation and fashion.
Alignment
A firm whose economics, incentives and conduct are designed to sit on the same side of the table as the people it will serve.
Intended investment philosophy
At a high level, Everest’s intended approach to investing is disciplined and valuation-focused: understanding businesses thoroughly, buying quality at sensible prices, concentrating on best ideas, and holding with patience.
The firm believes investment decisions should come from process and temperament, not prediction.
Planned business
Subject to Everest Asset Management Ltd. obtaining registration as a portfolio manager in the applicable jurisdictions and completing all required custodial, client and operational arrangements, Everest intends to offer discretionary separately managed account services to eligible Canadian institutional and high net worth clients. This service is not currently available. Everest is not accepting account applications, providing investment advice or managing separately managed accounts at this time.
Everest’s proposed separately managed account offering is expected to follow a disciplined, valuation-focused investment approach. The final scope and availability of the service will be subject to Everest obtaining all required registrations.
